My life is too hyponopaedically severe for normalcy.
Be careful with your choice of words. Advice can turn to manslaughter in a few milliseconds. Choose your words wisely.
Just make dua for that girl Ayat. Don’t talk about how you feel lied to or betrayed.
We have ALL hit a point where we have felt low. We have all lied to someone. We’ve all felt jealous and angry and spiteful. Maybe not on such a grand scale, but there is a speck of sin in your past that you would not like to be exposed, so don’t drag her through the mud.
Just make dua and pray that Allah guides her so she becomes happy with herself.
“Ayat”, you will be in my prayers.
May Allah cease your confusion and guide you to light.
I won’t become a doctor.
Remember this:
One day you will be sick.” —
Poem written by an 11 year old Afghan girl:
This poem was recorded in a NYT magazine article about female underground poetry groups in Afghanistan. An amazing article about the ways in which women are using a traditional two line poetry form to express their resistance to male oppression, their feelings about love (considered blasphemous), and their doubts about religion.
One of the best articles I’ve read all year. Here’s the link.
Before Ayat deactivated, she left me an email to keep in contact with her. I sent an email just recently to see how she was doing, she replied this morning and she told me things that she wanted me to share with the rest of tumblr.
This is extremely baffling to fathom.
May Allah guide her to her true identity.
Seventeeeen.
Not yet, buddy!
I don’t think it holds much value because it’s an elective.
Either way, you should contact your counselor.
I’m not there yet! :( I’m still a junior lol.
Oh noes, dear Anon! Fear not, senior year doesn’t matter much after you’ve been accepted into the college of your choice.
I need to get it over with as my final hurdle before I begin my renewed life at college.
It’s not too brutal after first semester!
I cannot wait for my senior year!

- elementary school: I went to bed at 10
- everyone: omg thats so cool
- middle school: I went to bed at 10
- everyone: wow loser
- high school: I went to bed at 10
- everyone: omg lucky!
- college: I went to bed at 10
- everyone: is that even possible
the worst mistake you can make is walking away from the person who actually stood there and waited for you

GPA does not determine your intellect. It doesn’t determine your knowledge of anything, it doesn’t determine your understanding of anything. What GPA does is determine how good you are at handing things in and completing the task at hand as best as you can for the instructor. It’s basically there to determine who’s best at paying attention. Don’t become disheartened if your GPA is not as high as someone else’s or where you want it to be. All you can do, is improve it by improving your focus. Increase your attentiveness, and never think that it’s a determinate of your intellect. Ever. You know what determines your intellect and how good you are at something? Actually doing it.
My favorite deep thought is:
After you die, it is believed that you have 7 minutes of brain activity left inside you, and in the 7 minutes you experience your entire life over, in a kind of dream… Because in a dream time is stretched.
So if this is the case, what if right now you’re in that 7 minutes, how do you know if you’re alive or just reliving old memories?
oh my god I feel like shit tonight
